Mortgage squeeze ’stifles’ market (BBC News)
Home sales are at a 30-year low as a lack of available mortgages “stifles” the housing market, an industry survey suggests.

The number of new mortgages increased slightly during September from the previous month’s record low but at 33,207 home loans, the volume remains well below the average of the previous six months.
